Teaching Civics to students across the city!

For the last few weeks, Stephanie and Haley have been traveling to different High Schools in Fayette County to talk to them about Lexington's Local Government!

So far, they’ve been to Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Bryan Station, and Tates Creek, with upcoming workshops at Henry Clay and STEAM Academy. They talked to students about how our local government is organized, who is in it, and they even got to see a video from their district Councilmember! The students were able to find what council district they live in and learn how legislation passes through Council, as well as play a few games.

We cannot wait to do more of these around Fayette County Public Schools and encourage students to get involved in local government!

If you are interested in having CivicLex do a presentation for students at your school, fill out the form on our website!
