In Tuesday’s Environmental Quality and Public Works (EQPW) Committee, Commissioner of Finance Erin Hensley will give an overview of the Urban Services Fund.

In Thursday’s Council Meeting, Council will make their final vote to place the Parks Sustainable Funding ballot initiative on the November general election ballot. If Council votes to approve it, then all Lexington voters will get to decide in November whether or not to institute the new property tax.

Last Tuesday, the Budget, Finance, and Economic Development Committee unanimously voted to move the Parks Sustainable Funding ballot initiative to the full Council. The full Council will takes its first action on the initiative on April 9th.

Last week, the Lexington Parks Sustainable Funding campaign launched to place a referendum creating a new dedicated property tax for Parks and Recreation project funding on the November 2024 ballot.

At Work Session, Urban County Council will hear the Mayor’s Administration’s recommendation for the Ad Valorem Tax Rate.

The Budget, Finance, & Economic Development (BFED) Committee will meet this week and hear a presentation about the City’s personnel budget and Ad Valorem taxes.

Each year, the Urban County Council weighs whether or not to change the Ad Valorem Tax rate - that process starts on Tuesday, August 16 in the Council Work Session.
