Today, both the Kentucky State House of Representatives and the State Senate voted to override Governor Andy Beshear’s veto of House Bill 18. Council will soon amend the recently passed source of income discrimination ban ordinance.

Governor Beshear has vetoed HB 18. If the veto is overridden, Lexington’s recently adopted source of income discrimination ban ordinance will be mostly unenforceable.

Last week, the Lexington Parks Sustainable Funding campaign launched to place a referendum creating a new dedicated property tax for Parks and Recreation project funding on the November 2024 ballot.
